KóDéx Afonrere is the name given to the six epochs that define the work, the sound, and the becoming of Afonrere. Each epoch marks a distinct era of orientation. A way of seeing, A way naming truth and relating to love. Together, they form a living record of transition, not as progress, but as passage.

1987-2017
The quintessential church boy, primary
school drummer boy and the encounter that
triggered it all. As long as I remember, I have
always thought, always written and yes, always loved music and the arts.

The Abrahamic Years
2018 — 2020
This was when I started asking real questions about the faith I grew up in.
I found myself reflecting on my Christian profession while giving deeper thought to my traditional roots.

Interregnum
2021 — 2022
This was a period of being in between, not who I was and not yet who I was becoming. I pulled things apart and slowly began to find myself again through Yoruba thought.

Son of Ògúnyodé
2022 — 2024
This was a turning point marked by healing, discipline, and initiation.
Yoruba thought became something I lived, not just something I explored.

This was where everything started to come together into a clearer expression. I was living and expressing these ideas with more awareness and intention.
